Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia and Clearwater are launching an exciting award program exclusive to JA achievers and alumni. Current JA students and past alumni (up to the age of 24) are eligible.
How does it work?
Interested participants must provide a 250 word briefing on their business idea or concept in writing to Junior Achievement by Monday February 15 at 5 pm. Each entry must be themed as a product concept or service innovation idea for Clearwater, as inspired by the company’s current profile as one of North America’s largest harvesters, processors and distributors of premium shellfish.
Successful contestants will be shortlisted and notified mid-March 2016. A final group of 5 will be selected to present their product or service idea to a panel of Clearwater executives. Contestants will be required to prepare a pitch and a simple 5 page business plan. Judging will take place on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Clearwater offices at 5:00 pm. Each contestant will have exactly 5 minutes to make their pitch. Their pitch and business plan will be evaluated by the judges and a single contestant will be selected as the winner.
What is the Innovation Award?
The winning contestant will win a $2,000 cash prize and the opportunity to spend the afternoon with the executive team at Clearwater for direct one-on-one mentorship.
